Orleans Parish has partnered with FEMA to hold an insurance workshop in your area. Flood insurance agents, real estate professionals, lenders, builders, and surveyors are encouraged to attend to gain a better understanding of:

  • Where the changes are occurring on the new flood maps;
  • The Newly Mapped Procedure and Grandfather rating options;
  • Policy Conversion and retaining customers whose risk is reduced;
  • Impacts of reform legislation and upcoming changes to the NFIP; and
  • Using new tools and resources to assist you.

As an added bonus for your participation, you will receive Continuing Education Credits! The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) and the Louisiana Department of Insurance will offer CEUs. You will need to confirm your name and email for ASFPM and provide us your LA P&C License number and agency name for Insurance Credits.

Doors will open a half hour prior to the Workshop.

This Insurance Workshop is currently full. The City of New Orleans is partnering with FEMA to provide an additional Insurance Workshop. This workshop is designed for citizens and will provide an overview of where they can view the new maps, changes in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), the Newly Mapped Procedure, and some key things to know about protecting your home through flood insurance. Residents are invited to register for this event through the link: www.OrleansParishFloodWorkshop.eventbrite.com.

If you’re already registered, we look forward to seeing you on August 26th! There is no charge for these workshops and we encourage you to share information about this event with other flood insurance agents, lenders, surveyors, builders and real estate professionals.

Your clients will view you as an important resource to accurately explain their changing flood risks. So, plan to attend this important workshop to become better prepared when your clients call. For more information about flood insurance, visit Agents.FloodSmart.gov.
